"Autumn Aurora"
May, 2009
Autumn Aurora was created as part of a
"mystery quilt" project with my local quilting guild. As I was making the quilt,
I was thinking that I wouldn't dare put it on my bed with two elderly cats with
attitudes. (Changing our sheets, blankets, and even pillows three times a week
is not unheard of here.)
At the same time, our church board was
trying to figure out how to get through the winter fuel bills and even more
daunting (to me) stone foundation repairs on our historic church, with a very
small membership to draw from. I put the two ideas together into, "raffle the
quilt to benefit the church"!
Because of this,
YOU COULD BE THE OWNER OF THIS QUILT!
The drawing will July 4th, 2010.

"The Wiggly Bridge"
30" x 35"
June 2004
This wall hanging was the result of a challenge by Art Quilts Maine. The
theme was "Variations on the New York Beauty block" in memory of two members of
A.Q.M. The image was taken from a photo of the "wiggly bridge" (a
suspension footbridge) in Ashoken, New York. The quilt was all pieced
except for couched "rope" railings and appliquéd fall leaves on the pond.
