Rock band 101

Greetings and welcome to ECO2000’s first online rock and roll show.

This course is designed to introduce you to the workings of a rock band including the economics of getting started, interviewing someone already in the business, advertising your group as well as experimenting with some of the various musical elements involved in performing. Can someone from Maine make it big? For an answer, why not ask Howie Day. He is a young man from the Bangor area who recently had a top forty hit on the pop charts. I personally know two Mainers who play with country groups. Considering the cross over from rock to country is a small step, I believe that the answer is yes. Someone from Maine can make a good living in “the business.” Anyone can make a great supplemental income playing music right here in our local area. There are even individuals who perform to earn a living in this area. With that being said, let us get started.
